A chocolate chip cookie eaten while drinking a cold glass of milk takes a lot of beating but we need to tell you about a different type of cookie and things called scripts.
What are cookies and scripts?
You have probably heard of Cookies but maybe not Scripts. Please celebrate the lack of a bad joke about scripts.
Just in case – online cookies are small files stored on your device by websites you visit. Cookies help with a wide range of things from delivering functionality, through to targeted advertising and site performance analysis.
Some cookies are essential while others are optional. Cookies can either delete after a set period of time or remain on a machine until deleted using browser settings.
Scripts are small pieces of computer code written into a web page that connect with other services beyond the viewed website.

Our approach to cookies and scripts
We use cookies for a variety of reasons detailed below. Our cookies will only be used if you accept the cookies policy when you visit the site. If you reject cookies, you reject the use of our cookies detailed below. We focus on telling you what we do, how we do it and making it easy to get in touch.
What does that mean in practice?
Email newsletters related cookies
This site offers newsletter or email subscription services and cookies may be used to remember if you are already registered and whether to show certain notifications which might only be valid to subscribed/unsubscribed users.
Forms related cookies
When you submit data through a form such as those found on contact pages or comment forms cookies may be set to remember your user details for future correspondence.
Third Party Cookies
In some special cases we also use cookies provided by trusted third parties. The following section details which third party cookies you might encounter through this site.
This site uses Google Analytics & Google Search Console which are some of the most widespread and trusted analytics solutions on the web for helping us to understand how you use the site and ways that we can improve your experience. These cookies may track things such as how long you spend on the site and the pages that you visit so we can continue to produce engaging content.
For more information on Google Analytics cookies, see the official Google Analytics page.
From time to time we test new features and make subtle changes to the way that the site is delivered. When we are still testing new features these cookies may be used to ensure that you receive a consistent experience whilst on the site whilst ensuring we understand which optimisations our users appreciate the most.
We may write three cookies to your machine during your use of our site: one from us, one from Google and one from YouTube. As well as writing cookies some scripts are embedded into our code that provide spam management and other interactivity for us.

A seven day expiry cookie is set informing the site whether you have accepted or declined cookies. We discuss how to remove cookies from your devices further down the page.
Declining cookies does not stop this cookie from being written to your device.
Google cookie
reCAPTCHA is used for spam management which means a Google cookie is written to your machine when you arrive at our site.
We do not control what the cookie does and it does not have an expiry date. We discuss how to remove cookies from your devices further down the page.
Declining cookies does not stop this cookie from being written to your device.
YouTube cookie
Accepting cookies and visiting About or What we do will result in a YouTube cookie being set on your machine.
We do not control what the cookie does and it does not have an expiry date. We discuss how to remove cookies from your devices further down the page.
If you Decline cookies you can still watch the videos but we do not set a cookie on your machine.
Scripts
Via a plug-in used on the site scripts from Google/reCAPTCHA are embedded into our code.
Our site runs on WordPress which in turn also means some scripts could be embedded.
We are striving to keep our site as lean as possible and cookies / scripts and plug-ins will be reviewed regularly.
Learn about your browser settings
We recommend you learn how to manage your browsing beyond accepting/rejecting cookies for each site you visit. Each browser (e.g. Safari) and device (e.g. iPhone) has a slightly different way of managing cookies.
Most modern browsers offer private browsing as well as granular level control over cookies. You should be able to find out more at your chosen browser / device website help section.
You can go further and install plug-ins to your browser that help block cookies and scripts. Check your browser plug-ins section. BUT, do be careful and thoroughly research a plug-in before installing.
Finally, it is worth spending the time to find out more about Google’s privacy policy. The more you know the more in control you can be.
